Lawyer, paralegal guilty of perjury

An Owings Mills lawyer who had his paralegal pose in court as the credit manager of a company he was representing pleaded guilty Wednesday to perjury.

Robert L. Kline III appeared in Baltimore City District Court in August 2006 for a civil trial, prosecutors said.

He had his employee, Karen A. Cain of Marriottsville, testify under oath that she was the credit manager. Cain was the only witness in the case.

Kline, who was disbarred in September 2007, was sentenced to two years of probation and 500 hours of community service. Cain received a one-year probation and 100 hours of community service. – Jaime Malarkey
