Shooting probe turns to homicide investigation

OMG! This is my friends son from coffeyville, and nephew of my other friend kathy Eli!!!! I cant believe this. This is horrible!!! OmG I will be praying Kathy and John, but a life taken this way, will never heal. God bless u Andrew. I knew ur father and ur Aunt. May God be with this family.

They caught the heartless, disgusting, men who murdered my cousin and his friend! Thank GOD!

that is a tragity wat happen saturday and if those heartless men think their tuff stuff than they should turn there selfs in and show there faces to the famlies they tore apart. ill be prayin that they catch the fugitives and take them down and down hard!!!!!!

Lets put a face on this senseless, cruel, sick tragedy. Andrew was a loving son, brother, nephew, grandson, cousin and friend to many. His life is gone b/c some sick monster had no respect for life. Who ever did this doesnt deserve to walk this earth. If you know anything please come fwd. If know anything and dont come fwd- you are just as guilty as the person who pulled the trigger. Lets please pray for the families of these 2 men, whose lives are now forever changed.

9th/Kalamath is heavily contested gang turf. Common route kids walk to and from West High School and corner is the origin of the street gang West 9th GKI, identified with the color purple. Graffiti of the Bloods, identified with painted BN, has increased in the area and the sub-sets of these gangs has largely increased youth violence. Both claim "West Side" and sometimes ally with the North Side against mutual rivals Sur 13 and its subsets. Disputes between these two gangs has increased in the area however. Inca street gang still is active in burglaries and other crime but the former mentioned gangs have a larger presence. East Side and South Side gangs (Crips, Sur13, MKS, EMS) tend to stay away from this area as evident from old scratched out 13's on walls and "CK" (Crip killer) tagged on the West Side Bar on 8th and Mariposa. WK also popular here, involved with famous murder 8yr old girl last year a couple miles West. In all probability, one of the parties involved could be GKI or BN

This is the second murder event at this same location within the past 3 weeks. A young man was killed in hte first, two this time. After the first event he police patrolled the area heavily for about a week but after a week were seldom seen in or around the area. I walk past this building 4 times a day and often seen groups just hanging out, especially when the police are absent. Why does the DC police not patroll these areas better? I know that the police can't be everywhere, but come on, a location such as this should have 24x7 police presence, especially considering what has been happening there recently. I feel extremely vaunerable walking this area. A co-worker was mugged in this same area just one month ago. If the police can't protect citizens why does the city council insist of preventing private citizens from being able to protect themselves. I say remove the ignorant gun ban and allow Concealed Carry licensed citizens the opportunity to protect themselves.

I was at the Hospital waiting to be seen and after 4 hours I left...Police and Young adults everywhere around the Hospital.. It was almost like the Hospital didn't see much of this in Howard co. PRAY FOR THE YOUNG MAN
