Slaying suspect delays entering plea

As of July 1st California drivers will have to use a hands free device while talking on the cell phone. Won't this just make it a little easier to drive, handle a gun and talk on a cellphone?

IF he is innocent, why does he have to look over evidence first to say he's innocent? if your innocent your innocent! Only the guilty will say wait let me look at the evidence first.

please refrain from saying insensitive things on these sites. JD and Derek's family and friends view these sites regularly, im sure. I knew both of these guys and no matter what anyone says, nobody deserves to go the way they did. It hurts so much to think that things will never be the same again, that we will never be able to hear them laugh, take pictures with them, or drink with them again.

I don't think they caught the wrong guy, obviously there was a reason why he was cought it's because he had something to do with it. If he was not the shooter he definitely was still involve in the situation. No bail set......and if this person is still out in the loose you may run but can't hide. There will be justice no matter what, if not by law but by God.

Everyday my heart crys out for Jason and his family! HE WAS A MAN,A MAN FROM THE AGE OF 16! when you talked with him,you liked him from the start and those of us who where close to him really loved him. my heary goes out to his family and the all of the friends! We'll hurt for the rst of our lives. We'll grow and help each other and build ourselves up as men and women and look back with the understanding that as he would have kept growing into the greater man he was,we too will grow and hope that the real law will stand up and that the KILLER'S WILL SPEND THE REST OF HIS DAYS LOOKING OVER HIS SCHOULDER BEHIND BARS! Kamala will not seek the death penalty. Once she hears about this case (after she comes back to Earth from campaigning for her messiah Obama) she will launch into another tirade blaming guns for this. Of course she's under suspicion for all that Federal money that has evaporated, so she may lay low even longer. But, you can bet she'll rail against guns and barely mention the killer and his lack of a conscience.

I think that the shooting at the pizza franchise was something that could be innocent. I have followed the case and think that they have got the wrong guy.

Jason was a special person. He grew up with my children in the Daly City area. He came and spoke at my son Asa B. Sullivan's funeral in June 2006. I met his beautiful wife and son. Jason and his family were the most sincere in their condolences to me for my son. Jason told me to let him know if there was anything he could do for our family to let him know and he would be there. I am saddened to learn another good man has been taken too early in life, especially due to a gun. My heart goes out to his family and friends.

Exactly what are Mayor Newsom and his expensive, new crime czar accomplishing when it comes to violent crime in San Francisco? Apparently, not whole lot at this point.

JD will be missed no one deserves to be gun down. The mayor of San Francisco needs to put the support system higher. We are now in high alets of crimes, my friend JD did not deserve this he leaves three children and families. This is not acceptable!

Jason Delacruz was a very good friend to us. We've known him since our childhood days. For someone to just pull out a gun and take an innocent life needs to be put in death row for this. This should really be considered many young people are dying over little pitty things, JD you will truly be missed!

Harris needs to go after anyone who commits crime. Our Board of Stupervisors need back up our police and support them not bad mouth them. The Executive needs to continue to do what he has always done...support crime fighters and the community.

Maybe the current mayor of San Francisco needs to finally grow a set of cajones and declare San Francisco not a "sanctuary city" and have Federal Agents co-operate and work together with local law enforcement, especially violent gang related homicides and get more Federal funded money. It is apparent local law enforcement is not suited for this job on their own and require outside help. Yes, I agree a District Attorney with a set is also a very good suggestion because the current one is not working out too well either.

and what about the Harris! She lets cop killers get off with just a 'slap on the wrist' what do you expect! Her policy is "i don't believe in the death penalty so kill as many people as you want and you will jsut get off with just a 'slap on the wrist'"

the homicide rate in SF isnt going to go down. Black kids kill each other all the time in this city and the cops can barely solve one of those cases. people dont want to cooperate with them because the cops cannot protect them. for all the talk about tackling these homicides i dont see any serious efforts happening until someone rich, white or in a non violent part of town gets killed. until then it seems clear that the cops are perfectly happy letting people of color kill each other as long as they keep it in their neighborhood. it's a sad truth in this city and there is no outrage about this high homicide rate because the average person here (read non person of color) is not affected by the killings. Here's a novel idea, make cops live in the communities they police so that they are forced to create relationships with people. then maybe they might see a resident of bayview for instance as a neighbor and not a criminal.

As I recall, getting on top of crime and cutting down on the number of murders in the city was a key campaign promise Gavin Newsome made. Perhaps the Mayor should spend more time making good on his campaign promises, and less time campaigning for Governor.
