Pasadena man holds robber at gunpoint until police arrive

An 80-year-old man held a robber hostage with a pellet gun until Anne Arundel police could arrive at his Pasadena house, police said.

Police said officers were responding to a report of a robbery about 4:30 a.m. Tuesday on the 100 block of Sandy Beach Road when they received a call for another robbery on the same road in which the suspect was still inside.

Police said officers arrived at the house and found the resident holding the suspect at gunpoint.

Body of missing man found in Chesapeake Bay

Two fishermen in the area of Swan Creek and the Chesapeake Bay discovered the body

of a Harford man Sunday afternoon, Havre de Grace police said.

Donald Walter McGlothlin, 53, had been missing since Feb. 19 from the city marina at Tydings Point, where he had been living aboard a boat moored there, said Havre de Grace spokesman Maj. John Van Gilder.

After a friend reported him missing, an underwater search at the marina in late February was unsuccessful.

The Aberdeen Proving Ground Police Department, Perry Point Fire Department, Susquehanna Hose Co. and Maryland Department of Natural Resources helped transport the body back upstream to Tydings Park, where it was recovered and taken to the office of the State Medical Examiner, Van Gilder said.

An autopsy Monday determined McGlothlin had died from hypothermia and drowning. – Matthew Santoni
