The number of San Francisco homicides continues to climb, especially in the Bayview district, where a 36-year-old San Francisco man was found dead Wednesday.

Police found Jeremiah Fisher lying in the unit block of Navy Road with a gunshot wound to the head. Reports of gunshots came in at about 3:30 p.m. Fisher was taken to San Francisco General Hospital where he was later pronounced dead, according to police.

Thursday night, San Francisco police responded to a shooting near the intersection of Turk and Gough streets that left one male victim dead.

The latest homicides are the 20th and 21st reported so far in 2008, according to police. About half of those killings occurred in the Bayview District. At this time in 2007, there were 24 homicides reported throughout The City.
