Harford County (Map, News) - A Harford County high school teacher was arrested this weekend and charged with having a sexual relationship with at least one student at C. Milton Wright High School, police said.

On Saturday, 29-year-old David “Dewey” Louis Vasses of Abingdon was arrested by Harford County Sheriff’s deputies and charged with sexual child abuse, fourth-degree sex offense and unnatural and perverted practice.

Charging documents said that Vasses, a science teacher and wrestling coach at C. Milton Wright, had a sexual relationship lasting several months with a 17-year-old female student, sending her explicit photos on her cell phone and taking pictures pf her clothed and unclothed in his bedroom.

Vasses told detectives from the Harford County Child Advocacy Center that he had also had a relationship with another student — then 17 years old —in October 2007, but had not had intercourse with her.

Investigators have seized Vasses’ computer, which he said contained images of the girls.

Vasses had been employed in Harford Count Schools since August 2002, and has been placed on paid administrative leave, said schools spokesman Don Morrison.

Vasses was released from custody Saturday on a $50,000 bond. The Child Advocacy Center is seeking more information about his case; anyone with information is urged to call (410) 638-3294.
