SAN FRANCISCO (Map, News) - In his first season at USF, Dior Lowhorn set the bar pretty high for his next two years. The sophomore forward, who led the West Coast Conference in scoring at 20.7 points per game, was named first-team All-WCC. The 6-foot-7 Lowhorn, who played at International Studies Academy and Riordan High School before going to Texas Tech, was fourth in the WCC with 7.5 rebounds per game. Fifth-seeded USF (9-20) opens WCC tournament action against eighth-seeded Loyola Marymount (5-25) on Friday at 8 p.m. in San Diego.

I agree with Glenn Dickey, Rex Walters has a good shot to turn the USF program around. He's done a great job recruiting so far, especially since he just got the job. I have always felt USF should have one of the pre-imminent programs in the bay area for the following reason; location. A player that attends USF gets the opprtunity to spend four years in a world class city. This is a powerful recruiting tool.

Glenn Dickey, I really enjoyed your article about the Dons. I live in NJ. but I am the father of 3 USF alumni. I am a Seton Hall alum(they actually played a home and home with USF a few years ago) but I have a "soft place" in my heart for the Dons. I hope your prediction of success for the team comes true. Fans have been waiting for a long time Richard Murphy GoDons!

Thank you, very much, for the USF - Rex Walters story. The only person who can stop Walters is his own boss, the Athletic Director. She is a known meddler and has a true, Al Davis, complex. The alumnai should keep an eye on her.
