REDWOOD CITY (Map, News) - A San Mateo mother is spending her first days in jail after admitting she lied about being sexually assaulted by a group of men.
Karyn Galila was handcuffed and taken into custody immediately Tuesday after being sentenced to 90 days in jail for filing a false police report.
The 24-year-old Galila had claimed last summer that had been sexually assaulted at gunpoint by a group of men after her car had supposedly broken down in Foster City.
After later admitting to making up the story, she pleaded no contest in December to one misdemeanor count of filing a false police report.
A probation report says she apparently fabricated the story to explain to her husband why she had come home late after meeting a man at a restaurant she had met online.
Galila's attorney had pleaded for leniency, arguing that she has a young child to care for.

This is probably not the first time this has happened and I doubt that it will be the last. It reminds me of that wierdo who said she was raped twice within about a week in the Glen Park section of San Francisco. Whatever happened to her?

About time that women get the same treatment as men. Women for a long, long time have taken advantage of the system to portray themselves as the "sexual victims" using false pretenses. The system has become biased against men as a result. Let this be an example that women can no longer get away with false accusations and being the "sexual victims".

She should have thought about her child before she made up such a serious lie i mean you were woman enough to cheat be a woman and deal with the outcome why lie about something as serious a rape i hope while she is in jail she can take some common sense classes because she needs some!!!
