Assemblymember pens passenger bill of rights

S.F. AIRPORT (Map, News) - There is good news for California passengers: state Assemblymember Mark Leno is introducing a passengers’ bill of rights that would provide comfort to travelers stranded on long delays.

Leno, D-San Francisco, wants to supply drinking water, snack foods, fresh air and clean accessible bathroom facilities to passengers stuck at any California airport for at least three hours because of flight delays.

If moved through the state Legislature, the Airline Passengers’ Bill of Rights would become effective Jan. 1.

The supplies would be the responsibility of the airline, not the airport. Leno is following the lead of the state of New York, which has passed a similar bill, in hopes of gaining national momentum for Congress to pass a national passengers’ rights bill

“It would give passengers and their loved ones the assurance that they won’t any longer have to worry that they could be stranded for hours on end without basic human needs met by the airlines,” Leno said.

I enjoy the examiner paper when I can get one. But they go quickly out of those boxes. I live in Middle River Md we use to have some in the shopping center across the street at Martin Plaza but the paper is no long delivered there. Why I dont know. If I am lucky I can get one in Essex if there is any on my way to work. But usually I dont get one. Can you delivery them at my home? Just wondering. Let me know. If you can I will send you my address. Carl Cook

Thanks for sharing those websites. Great ideas of fun things to do in San Diego, and now I have new wineries to visit all over California!
