Take your special someone to Viva la Musica’s special Valentine’s Day concert. The choral performance, which features love songs accompanied by a gift of chocolate for ticket holders, is at 8 p.m. Thursday in Belmont. The program features chamber music showcasing violin, flute, guitar and piano. It also offers something for the eyes as well as the ears. Gershwin Benefit Concert

Delta San Francisco-Peninsula Foundation presents “An Evening With Gershwin” on Feb. 24 in San Mateo. Acclaimed opera singers Cedric Cannon and La-Rose Saxon, along with special guest pianist Joseph Joubert, are featured. Cannon, a baritone, graduated from San Mateo High School in 1972. He began his music career as a student. While taking a voice class at College of San Mateo, he was encouraged to consider majoring in music. He did just that at San Francisco State University.

The versatile performer, whose repertoire includes opera as well as musical theater, has sung with orchestras across the world. Proceeds from the concert go to scholarships. Two Concerts at Kohl

Kohl Mansion in Burlingame is the setting for a couple of upcoming performances. Chorissima, a group of the San Francisco Girls Chorus, presents a family concert Feb. 29 at 7 p.m. Under the direction of Susan McMane, the choir will sing a program of classical and popular works from around the world. Tickets are $6. Jupiter String Quartet, featuring clarinetist Jose Franch-Ballester, performs March 2 at 7 p.m. The program features Beethoven’s String Quartet No. 16 in F major; Bla Kovcs’ “Hommage Manuel de Falla” and Mozart’s Clarinet Quintet in A major.
