Suspects sought in South S.F. robbery

SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO (Map, News) - Authorities are searching for four suspects in connection with the strong-arm robbery of a 25-year-old man in South San Francisco Sunday night, police said.

At about 10:25 p.m., the victim, who was walking away from his South San Francisco home, was approached by one of the suspects in a parking lot in the 400 block of Grand Avenue. The suspect, described as a Hispanic man in his early 20s wearing a tan mask, told the victim not to scream and was then joined by two other suspects, police said.

The three assailants beat the victim to the ground using their fists, and then kicked the victim repeatedly in his head and upper torso, according to police. The suspects also stole the victim's wallet and cell phone.

The three assailants fled westbound in a four-door red vehicle that was driven by an unidentified fourth suspect.

The victim was transported to an area hospital and has since been released.

Anyone with information regarding the incident is asked call the South San Francisco Police Department at (650) 877-8900.
