Oakland's sixth homicide of the year occurred early this morning followed by a separate incident that sent two victims to a local hospital with gunshot wounds, according to police.

Officers responded to a report of a possible suicide in the 900 block of Seventh Street at about 12:40 a.m., police said.

Homicide investigators were then called to the scene, police said.

At about 3:20 a.m., a shooting at 14th Street and Broadway left two people injured. Those victims were transported to a local hospital where they were listed in stable condition, according to police.
