Robbers invade home, tie up family

The terrible life threatening beating this elderly couple were subjected to warranted the suspect being shot in the head as the mad dog he had become! How did he deserve air lifting while Mr. Sauck's beating got him a 2 hr. ambulance ride. Remember he caused Mrs. Sauck to still be in critical condition in the hospital. The Saucks are in their eighties. Are there any limits of evil supposed human beings would not stoop to?

You're kidding right, your excellency? What innocent young boys? It is proven they dealt in drugs, they lived in house where the neighbors witnessed classic signs of drug dealing and numerous people found in the house was arrested on drugs charges. If you want to lie to yourself and call them innocent, by all means do so, but the rest of us will acknowledge the truth (and thus the pattern of the clergy turning a blind eye to the facts in front of them continues).

We must not make the assumption that these innocent young boys were somehow involved with drugs.

Even though no one is really reporting motive for all of this it's pretty safe to say it's all drug related. More than likely, these to young men will be found dead somewhere. Sad but reality. They should have chosen a different life style. Everyone is lucky the whole family wasn't killed.

These two "boys" might have been safe if they didn't get involved in the drug trade. Why are we worried about these two? They are violent drug dealers who chose to be gangsters! Them getting kidnapped is just a part of doing business.....

The doctor/husband's survival is an obvious inconsistency. I'm sure the police have and will continue to investigate that in detail. Given the nature of the two criminals, it may be they forgot about him, or thought they had tied him so well, or beaten him so much, he would die in the flames. These two do not appear, after all, to be very bright - they drove out of the house directly into the police! Still, the survival of the father must be checked out, as he, himself, no doubt understands.

Was there not, long ago, a black and white movie made about a home invasion like this one - two ex-cons meet, plot it, and kill the father, wife and two children, after tying the parents up in the basement. I think it was Orson Wells who made or directed the movie. Could these two have seen that movie and thought of a copy-cat crime?

I know the Constitution prohibits it, and we should not, I guess, want it, but deep inside me I want these two bastards, after a full and fair trial of course, tied to stakes in the main square of town and burned alive to ashes. No merciful strangulation. No bullet. No suffocation from smoke. I want them to scream their guts out by hot, clear fire. Bastards. With parole boards we need a new test. This is the test: if you believe a person should be let lose in society because they are safe, then, whatever crime he or she may after commit, you must be punished the same as they. Now, let's see how many parole boards will confidently bet their own lives and liberty, instead of that of others, on their so-called "considered judgement." If answer is made our prisons are over-crowded, it is for a comination of two reason: non-violent people should not be there and the violent convicted should be taken out and shot dead. That will solve, at both ends, the over=crowding problem.

While my heart goes out to the Dr. who not only went through this terrible ordeal himself and ended up losing his family, I can't help but feel suspicious of him. How did he escape the fire when he was supposedly bound in the basement? And why was he bound seperate from his family? Something just isn't adding up here......

Maryland is far worse than Connecticut when it comes to revolving doors in the prison system. In Maryland the victims are scorned and the defendants are pitied. Example: A 15 year sentence? They're out in two years for "good behavior." The state legislature and our appellate courts are not concerned with the rights of victims but with the rights of the defendants to continue their dastardly deeds. I am now retired but can speak with knowledge because of my career in the Maryland court system. If I wrote a book of my former employment it would be factual, not a novel, and it would be on the best seller list. The Criminal Justice System not only in Maryland but in this country is atrocious! May God save us all!

The fact is that there are inmates released on parole every day, in every state. 5 will get you 10 that at alphabet soup's parole hearing, no one spoke against his being paroled and someone spoke in favor of his being paroled. And if you read the account of his parents' accomplishments, you got to figure the parole board was inclined to look favorably on cutting at least him loose.

I just don't get the mantra that these guys had no history of violent crime. The invasion of one's home by someone intent on committing a crime in one's home is an act of violence. In fact, in many states burglary is a statutory crime of violence.

I am outraged to hear of this violent crime!!!!!!Men like this should never be let out on parole and they should not be let out to mainstream into the real world.These men are too violent.They cannot be fixed by attending a halfway house.All they learn is what they intend to do for the next crime spree..This trajedy should never have occured!!!!!
