Sparrows Point sale is dead

How sad this country has become. When people believe that it is ok for CEO's to make hundreds of millions of dollars and the working men and women should make $7:50 an hour. And for all the whiners about Sparrows Point why don't you move to a foreign country since you love cheap foreign products. For it is you that causes American companies to move out of this country.

I cant believe we are still fighting this. Owe'Malley promised the people of eastern Baltimore County if he was elected Governor that this facility would not be built. Owe'Malley why are you not stopping this as you promised you could, was that another lie like the one about stopping the BG&E rate increase. When does Owe'Malley ever tell the truth?

Unions are greedy, of course they want this plant. They would sell their sould for a few short lived dollars. Also LNG doesn't go fuel cars idiots. This plant could be easily built off shore away from communities and people. This is all about a big company that is so greedy it could care less about the social, economic, cultural and enviromental impacts it will force on the surrounding comunity and about a federal governement who has sold out to the big corporations and therefore could really care less in the end about citizens as long as its political agenda is being pursued and it can make it seem otherwise.

all labor unions are today is a democratic party machine. i am tired of receiving literatre telling me who to vote for. what kickback are you paying these politicians. i noticed most uions contributed to o malley. i hope that penny plus all the nice things this man does for the working people will satisfy you. oh that is right the heads of the unions are making big bucks and do not worry about the penny. say thank you to the dumbies that pay a portion to support your bs

here we go. wer all complain about enery prices but it is the nimbys (not in my back yard) that has causes this shortage. nj use to have many refineries but now they are in the gulf. the us is down to 30 to make the gas. please think what you are saying. no to a crucial need. where are they going to put this plant then, annapolis. this is a open industrial site. you bought your house there. think dumbies where your house is. it is sort of like the do gooders who bought homes along the baynext to waterman and then complained about the crab pots and the fishy smell or people who live near a pig farm. you bought your hme there and the sparrows point is an industrial area. it can be built there. better yet maybe a nuclear power plant would be better. cry again then when you go to the pumps to pay. tyhe go democrats in this state will bail you out and charge you more money in taxes. after all they are for the working families. ask smith and the apartments in baltimre county

I am nor for or against unions but without them the greedy corporate ceos would be making even more money. until affordable housing and cheaper cars become made a good wage must be made. we are becoming a third world country because greedy corporate sponsors are paying $10.00HR NOW WHO CAN LIVE ON THIS WAGE.......

Unions also cause inflation with their high pay rates, causing a trickle down effect in wage increases.

If it wasn't for the union, many cities would not be wastlands of unemployment and our jobs would not be going overseas because USA companies can't afford to pay some shlub $85/hour to weld a panel all day. Greedy!

like always nobody wants a Mill that is run by a greedy UNION that only looks out for themselves and not the worker, unions had their time years ago but that time has come and gone! Workers need to stop living above their means and look toward more modest ways, so that the companies that are left in this country can compete with the foreign market, $25-30hr jobs are killing the factories, when other jobs are paying less those workers are making it and their jobs are secure, get with the times and get rid of unions, so that workers have security and companies are secure

A sad situation. Once, if I'm not mistaken, the largest steel mill in the world. Enabled my father with six grades of education to move from Shop Steward to Foreman and buy a house and a new car. Enabled me to pay my way through college working in the 83" hot strip mill. Dad used to say they better stop using the open hearth method and go to the Bessemer process. He saw things better than the big guys in Bethlehem.

How sad it is that this country no longer is a viable one. Our steel industry together with all the other industries are now in Europe, the Far East and even some in South America. It is so upsetting to go shopping for clothing and find all of the labels reading, "Made In China," etc. I have always hated that horrendous holiday, "Labor Day" because it reminds me of those horrible unions and their greedy and unreasonable demands which forced those industries to move elsewhere. General Motors and Ford will be the next corporations who will be forced to either shut down completely or move to Europe or the Far East thanks again to the unions.
