“You’ve got to start over and take each game as it comes,” Celenza said. “Those games are done, and there’s nothing you can do about it. You’ve just got to look forward and go from here.”
For the Blast (5-3), that means focusing on facing the Monterrey La Raza (2-7) in Mexico tonight at 9. The Blast was successful against Monterrey in the team’s first game, as it rallied from a 5-0 deficit in the first quarter to post a 12-9 victory at 1st Mariner Arena in November.
“There’s a little bit of confidence knowing that we beat them,” defender P.J. Wakefield said. “But going down there, it’s going to be a tough atmosphere. We’ve played down there before, and the field is a little bit smaller, so a lot of those games are going to be high-scoring games. It’s just a matter of playing good defense, and when we have opportunities to score, we’ve got to nail them down.”
Capitalizing on offensive chances has been a concern for the Blast. During the three-game losing streak, Baltimore is 11-for-71 shooting, including going 4-for-31 during a 19-11 loss to Detroit on Saturday.
“We’re generating opportunities,” Celenza, whose team has been outscored, 42-25, the past three games, said. “We just have to finish them. Our scoring chances will come. We’ve just got to keep our opponents off the board.”
La Raza is led by Dino Delevski, who has 10 goals and an assist, is sixth in the Major Indoor Soccer League with 23 points, and defender Genoni Martinez — a two-time Defensive Player of the Year — leads the league with 23 blocks.
Monterrey is in the midst of a five-game losing streak, which began in Baltimore on Nov. 16.
Baltimore will travel to Stockton, Calif., following tonight’s game to play the Cougars (5-3) on Saturday before taking a three-week break for the holidays.
“There are no easy games in this league,” Blast coach Danny Kelly said. “We haven’t had an easy game yet. I don’t anticipate these two games being easy in any way, shape or form. We’re going to have to go and whatever we get, we’ll have to earn. It’s going to be a tough trip.”

Can we get a professional sport in the winter?
Nothing worse than a bunch of sissies running around squealing "don't use your hands! don't use your hands!"
