Donation barrels are located throughout the county, and the Children’s Fund is asking for new, unwrapped toys that can be distributed as the holiday approaches.
The Children’s Fund was started in 1973 by social workers who were trying to assist foster children, according to its Web site. In order to provide goods and services that were not available through public funding, they established a program that now benefits children and teens by providing clothing and sports equipment, as well as medical help and college tuition assistance.
To find the donation barrel closest to your home or for further information about the Children’s Fund, contact Al Teglia at (650) 301-8444.
