Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow. And let the school closings begin. Goucher College and other schools are canceling evening classes and are posting announcements on Web sites.

The Baltimore area remains under a snow advisory until at least 8 p.m. today, meaning roads likely will be covered in snow and driving conditions could become difficult.

The Maryland State Highway Administration began treating roads in the western section of the state earlier today and moved into urban areas as snow started threatening major thoroughfares.

Several traffic mishaps have been reported throughout the area. Click here to check road conditions and state-issued traffic advisories.
