Fast Company presents Social Capitalist Awards

Bay Area (Map, News) - Fast Company magazine has awarded 10 Bay Area organizations Social Capitalist Awards for their efforts using the tools of business and partnerships with for-profit companies to solve pressing social problems.

The organizations include Oakland-based Aspire Public Schools; San Frnacisco-based Civic Ventures/Experience Corps; Goodwill Industries of SF; San Francisco-based KickStart; San Francisco-based KIPP; Menlo Park-based Raising a Reader; San Francisco-based Room to Read; Richmond, Calif.-based Rubicon Programs and Oakland-based Transfair USA, as well as San Francisco-based New Leaf Paper.

The full list of winners can be found in Fast Company’s December/January 2008 issue and will be recognized at a ceremony at the Westin Washington D.C. City Center on Jan. 8, 2008.
