The Oregon State football team won its final three Pac-10 Conference games, including a victory over arch-rival Oregon, to finish third in the conference. Quarterback Lyle Moevao and the Beavers (8-4) accepted an invitation to play in the Emerald Bowl at AT&T Park on Dec. 28. They take on Maryland (6-6), which finished fifth in the Atlantic Coast Conference.

Ohio State, LSU will battle for the BCS championship

Two weeks ago, quarterback Todd Boeckman and the Ohio State football team had roses in their mouths, ready to play in the Rose Bowl. But the Buckeyes will instead play in its second straight BCS championship game and face LSU, which jumped into the title game despite losing two games late in the season. In other BCS matchups, Hawaii will play Georgia in the Sugar Bowl, Kansas faces off with Virginia Tech in the Orange Bowl, Southern Cal takes on Illinois in the Rose Bowl and Oklahoma will meet West Virginia in the Fiesta Bowl. Cal, which lost the Big Game to Stanford on Saturday, has accepted a berth in the Armed Forces Bowl against Air Force on Dec. 31.
