Twenty-three-year-old Tyler Baumann of Alexandria, Va., was sentenced Tuesday in Monongalia County Circuit Court to the maximum penalty for involuntary manslaughter, which he was convicted of in October.
Prosecutors say Baumann went to a friend's kitchen for the knife he used to stab 21-year-old Washington, Pa., resident Ryan Johnston in February of 2006.
The stabbing followed a fight sparked by a well-aimed snowball.
But Baumann's attorneys said it was Johnston who went to the kitchen for the knife and was stabbed as Baumann wrestled it from him in self-defense.

Tyler stabbed Ryan out of SELF DEFENSE. Ryan was drunk and had been kicked out of bars for starting fights. This article seems very biased to me.
