Two area deaths from hit-and-runs

A woman was found in the roadway on 7th Street in Laurel around 12:45 a.m. Sunday. Ruth Ann Storm, 49, a Laurel resident, was taken by ambulance to Laurel Regional Hospital, where she was pronounced dead, according to Laurel police spokesman officer Jim Collins.

Sunday, officers discovered a Nissan vehicle with damage to its body and mirror at Elaine Court. A mirror that appeared to come from a Nissan was found at the scene.

Police were questioning the owner of the vehicle Sunday afternoon, but no arrests had been made, Collins said.

Around 2:30 a.m. Saturday, police responded to a call of a person lying in the roadway near the intersection of Ordway Road and Compton Road in Centerville.

Jeremy Brader, 27, a Herndon resident, was found dead at the scene. Detectives are investigating the hit-and-run. – Melissa Frederick

Two girls, one man are missing in D.C.

Two girls and a man are missing from D.C., according to the Metropolitan Police Department.

One is 62-year-old Ernest Hunter, last seen around midnight Friday at his house on the 5300 block of Clay Terrace NE. He is black, 6 feet 2, weighing around 190 pounds, with brown eyes. He suffers from schizophrenia and seizures and was not carrying medication, according to police.

Also missing is 14-year-old Kimberly Scrivner, last seen around 10 p.m. Thursday at her home on the 1600 block of Montello Avenue NE. She is black, 5-3 and weighs about 165 pounds. The third missing person, last seen around 10 p.m. Thursday at her home on the 1200 block of Holbrook Terrace NE, is Roanne
