“In the first half, we certainly didn’t play well at all,” Blast coach Danny Kelly said. “It just wasn’t a good half. Fundamentally, we weren’t sound. Monterrey was beating us down the floor.”
La Raza scored twice in the first eight to take a 5-0 lead on goals by Genoni Martinez and Dino Delevski, two of the Major Indoor Soccer League’s most prolific scorers. It marked just the second time the Blast has trailed this season, as it fell behind Milwaukee, 8-6, before rallying for a 13-8 victory on Oct. 27.
Trailing for the first time in nearly 126 minutes, the Blast rallied. The Blast scored three goals — each goal in the MISL is worth two or three points — as Denison Cabral, Scott Buete and Robbie Aristodemo scored in the second quarter to put Baltimore on top, 6-5, at intermission. Mike Lookingland, Billy Nelson and Cabral each scored in the third quarter to put the game away.
The Blast (5-0) maintained its one-and-a-half-game lead over Chicago (3-1) and Detroit (3-1) for first place atop the standings. The Blast’s next game is at Detroit on Nov. 30.
“Overall, I thought we had a good game,” Aristodemo said. “We dug ourselves out of a hole and we showed a lot of character tonight. We have a veteran team. We just buckled down and said, ‘Let’s get the next goal,’ and that’s what we did.”
For the second consecutive game, the Blast played without injured starting goalkeeper Sagu (calf), forwards Giuliano Celenza (ankle) and David Bascome (hip). But that didn’t stop the Blast from shooting a season-high 43 times. Kelly said Sagu, Celenza and Bascome should all be in the lineup on Nov. 30 against Detroit.
“We need to get better,” Kelly said. “These two weeks, we need to train and keep working hard in practice to get better.”

Can we get a professional sport in the winter?
Nothing worse than a bunch of sissies running around squealing "don't use your hands! don't use your hands!"
