Detroit pushed past St. Louis to become the nation's most dangerous city, according to a private research group's controversial analysis, released Sunday, of annual FBI crime statistics. The study drew harsh criticism even before it came out. The American Society of Criminology launched a pre-emptive strike Friday, issuing a statement attacking it as "an irresponsible misuse" of crime data.

Former Democrat says:
I stand to lose more at the hands of my Government than at the hand of criminals.
I read an articl this a.m. on Drudge that in San Francisco the push is on to ban fireplaces and woodstoves. This is more writing on the wall.
If they make the decision in SF to do this, the wave will spread. There is very little defense against this type of legislation. This would be a huge loss to all. Don't let them take your independence America. Keep your gun and your hearth.
Mr Village:
Your head is in the sand. Please know that at some point your bubble will burst. I'm sorry, but what you read online and in the papers can happen in your village too. Tread lightly and carry a big stick.
I am safe because I am careful and smart. I don't live in Mayberry. None of do anymore. Does that mean that I need to hand over my rights and pretend that Mother Government will make it all better? NO!
Funny thing you should ask. Living in a town of 8k one would think it is safe. It is generally a safe place, however just recently a large fraud of enormous proportion was discovered and makes it more vulnerable to attack. Crime comes in a all shapes and sizes. No town is too big or small to the likes of evil.
So far so good. The fall air is crisp and clean, neighbors are out and about and helping one another, kids are playing in each others yards, and the nearest welfare office is fifty miles away.
I was born and raised in Olympia,Wa. and in the 50'S AND 60'S it was wonderful. State workers, longshoremen, plywood workers, the Olympia Brewing co. crew and truckers and loggers spent their wages in Olympia and paid their own way. Then they built the ultra-liberal Evergreen State College and the whole personality of the down town changed for the worst. The word went out far and wide that the town was a soft touch for deadbeats and the scum of the earth began to drift in. The illegal protests of the unloading of military equipment at the port has drawn nationwide attention and you guessed it an Evergreen College professor was the organizer, even putting 4 and 5 year old children in harms way. Despicable.
We should be afraid .... very afraid. American is going to hell in a handbasket. children are killing children. babies continue to have babies. people can't afford to live in their homes. the bankers push risky mortgages on unsuspecting people. the price of food is going through the roof, as well as the price of gasoline. where will it all end? all of this leads to crime and killing and the rest of it. what's wrong with this country?
I am fed up with living in Baltimore. The crime continues to get worst and the police are not doing very much to help the residents. I have lived in the Hamden area for 5 years. so far my car has been stolen and my house has been broken into. The car was totaled with evidence such as a bus pass left in the vehicle from a person the was riding in the stolen car. The police department did nothing. Now my house was broken into and nothing seems to be happening to recover my valuables. I pay taxes for the criminals and illegals to receive the benefits of living in Baltimore. The tax payers don't even get protection.
It appears that the famous 5 as I will call them who voted in his holinesses latest fiasco, will have to face their makers. US the voters. I can't understand how one of the 5 said he wasn't invited to the filibuster. The senator from Baltimore Countywould never actively participate in a filabuster. The Baltimore County Senator should start looking for work elsewhere, as I hope fellow Balto Co. voters remember this in 3 years. It affects all of us. Young, old and middle age. Where is the additional money going? Where is the BUDGET. MR/M's Senators isn;t this what you were elected to provide and protect your constituents?
