San Jose-based SunPower Corp. (SPWR) has fallen more than 11.5 percent in midday trading, the largest drop seen Monday among local stocks tracked by the Examiner. Nvidia Corp. (NVDA) also declined, falling about 6.5 percent as of 2:30 p.m. Eastern Standard Time.

On the positive side, San Francisco-based Charles Schwab Corp. (SCHW) rose more than 5.2 percent while Intuit Inc. (INTU) rose more than 4.7 percent.

The markets are giving a mixed performance Monday, with the Dow Jones and S&P 500 up while the Nasdaq is slightly down. The Dow was up more than 0.5 percent, the Nasdaq down by more than 0.4 percent and the S&P 500 up by more than 0.2 percent.

Local companies in the news at this hour include Intel Corp. (INTC), which announced the release of a new silicon-free chip, and Chevron Energy Solutions, a unit of San Ramon-based Chevron Corp. (CVX), which announced that it hasjoined the Clinton Climate Initiative.
