examiNation DC: What do you think about the biggest corruption case to hit D.C.?

The city is known for a consequence adverse environment that has encouraged corruption and lawlessness based on rationalized behavior and lack of certain consequence and punishmentfor violating the rule of law, and other citizens trust and constitutional rights, but a city gets the government it deserves. This is a glaring example of a growing selfish, materialistic, rationalistic and irresponsible generation-and then they blame a list of things for choices they conciously have have made. Then they go to court and they figure out its all a joke because they will never be punished for a thing. Look at the violent crime in the district. You can have All Hands of on Deck every day of the year but if the courts do not follow through its a sham.

Why hasn't the head of the audit/internal affairs division been fired? Oh, right -- he was made the Acting Deputy Chief Financial Officer to oversee the department that he should've been auditing all these years? Fox in the Hen House? Why hasn't the Chief of the Real Property Assessment Services Division from 2003 to 2005 been fired or asked to resign like the rest of them? She was Gustus and Walter's day-to-day boss for that period and as the division chief for 2 or 3 years was a direct supervisior of this entire department -- but she hasn't been fired? Why not? And, why is she NOW the Director of Auditing? Why hasn't the Deputy Chief of the Assessment Services Division, who had direct supervision of Walters and Gustus, been fired? She was their direct boss for 5-6 years!! What about the DC Treasury officials who wrote the refund checks? Were they watching? Why didn't they report the large refund checks? What about the outside auditors KPMG and BDO Seidman? Where is their liab

Yes, Ghandhi should resign or the Mayor should ask for his resignation.

After reading much about this case I agree that the CFO should in fact resign. This is a mere reflection of HIS agency. Since his top superiors did not catch this corruption, then where was he? Does he not look at ANY financial records?? Or is he too busy appeasing the likes of the Mayor with other responsibilities outside of his agency? I agree that everyone who overlooked this corruption (past/present) employees hold some accountability in this. It seems that this went ignored from 2000 to present!!! Seems like Dr. Ghandi's entire top staff were not trained correctly on their duties of overseeing the perspective departments. I have absolutely no compassion for any of them to include the lower level workers and the RA department (only those employee's that would have had direct involvement with approving and processing those checks). Not everyone within the respective departments are involved I do not believe. This is sad and a complete and utter mess!!

Anyone who was responsible for this division from the time Ms. Walters stARTED TAKING MONEY SHOULD BE FIRED. This includes anyone from the pass and hAS RETIRED. Natwar kept Huff in the agency after many complaints by employee until he embrassed the agency. Tom Branham was fired once before and Natwar hired him again. Minnetta Coles should also be held accountable, as well as Nancy Tucker, Susan Lee, Lesa Lee and anyone else who managed that area. Also Revenue Accounting and those in the treasure area of Real Property property. What about Stanley Jackson?
