SAN JOSE (Map, News) - The father of slain Wall Street Journal reporter Daniel Pearl will speak Wednesday night at San Jose State University, where he will talk about fighting the ideology of terrorism.

Judea Pearl’s 6 p.m. talk in room SCI 164 is part of a two-week series sponsored by Hillel of Silicon Valley that examines the effects of global terrorism through art, experts and those with personal experience with terrorism.

Daniel Pearl was killed by terrorists in Karachi, Pakistan, in 2002.

Also on Wednesday there will be a showing of "Passenger 17," a documentary about the search for the identity of a bus passenger killed in a terrorist attack. The film shows from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Wednesday in the MOSAIC Cross Cultural Center in the SJSU Student Union.
