After being ordered to may almost $11 million to the father of a fallen Marine, Westboro Baptist Church and its three leaders reported a net worth of less than $1 million combined, according to court documents, but some people aren't buying it. “There’s a gap in the income they’re declaring and what they’re spending; it’s like the Grand Canyon,” said Craig Trebilcock, an attorney for Albert Snyder, who sued the church after its members protested the funeral of his son, Marine Lance Cpl. Matthew Snyder.

6:45 I am not sure what you are saying, you speak a double standard. You are learning the bible from "reading works like God is Not Great." How can you learn the bible by reading another book? You learn the bible from reading the bible, no books added or taken away needed. You may use other books to help you understand the interpretation of the bible, but again you know and learn the bible from reading it. II Timothy 3:16-17 (16)"All scripture is given by inspiration of God and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction, in righteousness (17) That the man of God may be perfect, thoroughly furnished unto all good works." The bible is God's word and is complete, to "thoroughly furnish" the believer in knowing all things pertaining to life and godliness. Jesus was Jewish, but he was also a Christian Jew. Jesus didn't need any "gospels" named after him, he is the living word. To hate such as this so-called does is not according to scripture.

Thanks Mr. Vandygriff, but I don't have a relationship with "your" christ. I have a relationship with knowledge and truth and humanity. I do not have a relationship with a borrowed religious and mythical figure, that would profess to be God incarnet. A man who was elected to fill that role by a tyranical priest and a religion that killed people that would oppose it, burning them alive for supposed heresy. I am learning what the bible is by reading works like God is Not Great: How religion poisons everything, and The Jesus Papers. Tearing the bible apart is very easy when you compare it to the truthful facts of history, and look at it in reverse interpretation. Jesus wasn't a Christian, he was Jewish...He was a man. And even if he weren't, he has no gospels in his name! I think he would be ashamed at how church people use his name and his image to promote hate, division, even as justification to enslave people. Religion is sick as these people. I stay away from hyporcrites!

Whatever happened to that church on Saratoga and Fremont Avenue which experienced a fire this past summer and in the news reports of the fire it was reported that the church had numerous debts including a very substantial unpaid water bill to the City of Baltimore but that the minister was riding around in a luxury car (A BMW or Mercedes) which was owned by the church? Any reason we can't have a follow-up on that story? That's the problem with newspapers in that you read these articles but you never hear the outcome.

The actions of this "church" are what turn many away from Christianity. These people do not represent the majority of true, God-loving Christians. They do, however, represent the true face of ignorance.

The sad thing is that in all likelihood the Phelps family with their law background will be able to stall any inquiry and in the end the verdict will be overturned on Constitutional issues even though it is a just decision from an ethical and moral standpoint. Protecting such repulsive exhibitions is a part of the cost of 'Freedom of Speech'.

It is my sincere hope you don't continue to judge Christ on inperfect humans...i dont know your name but invite you to read the new Testament of Jesus Christ...specifically the book of Mathew and the sermon on the mount...maybe you never go back to church but i certanly hope you have a relationship with Christ...and the only requirment for that is to ask him to come into your heart...we are ALL sinners no matter what your sin is...it is between you and God..peace be with you

I am a christian and i don't know what bible these people are operating from, but God hates noone.....if people would start actually reading the BIBLE they would see that what this so-called church is doing goes against everything in the BIBLE....actually this cult is not even classified as a church a church is the body of CHRIST JESUS...as true christians we need to pray for these people. The sadest thing is this is what their children are being taught. To the family's affected by this man, i and my family pray for your loss and thank you for the service your family's loved ones have done for this country...I will continue to pray for your family's as well as for the rest of the world which has not found the love i have through a personal relationship with JESUS CHRIST.

Fred Phelps and family have been spewing a sick form of Christianity for far too long. There's really no way to know how much pain and suffering they've caused countless families that have lost loved ones and have been subjected to the Phelps disgusting protests. I hope that the Snyder's attorney can literally clean their clocks including an investigation into the church's finances. If they could shut down the "church" tomorrow, it wouldn't be too soon. As a proclaimed Christian minister, "Rev. Phelps" shows absolutely no compassion for others that is demonstrated in the New Testament. He thrives on the Old Testament world of absolutes and perhaps he may get a chance to experience that himself. If that happens, then I will have proof there certainly is a God.

Federal Judges should issue a permanent restraining order that prohibits this group from convening to distribute their trash within 5 miles of any cemetery or other funeral service or funeral facility that performs services for our fallen military members. To limit their freedom of speech to only include what society is comfortable with would truly be the ultimate slap in the face of the fallen military members that have died to give them that freedom. Additionally, the main stream media needs to completely ignore this group. Coverage of this type of behavior only brings disgrace to them.

9:39 Believe what you want but you better be right. We will all stand before God one day and give account for what we believe. Homosexuality is a sin, but God’s word, the bible states that God loves the sinner, but it also states that God hates the sin. If we fail to believe in God and his son Jesus then we have lost the battle, so to speak. Look to God not to man, man will fail you but God’s word is unchanging. The truth of God’s word will set you free.

Well I can say one thing, I applaude those people. They proved my point when I walked out a church for the last time, threw that bible full of hate and division in the trash, and finally felt free. I am not bound by countless undoable rules and inhuman feats of chaste! Jesus was a historical figure...period. He wasn't special, just a man like you or me. He was probably just a political agitator, mad at the Romans for taking his tax money. The bible is incomplete, political, and it promotes racism, clascism, division, hatred, murder, jealousy, and a host of all those other things a dictator would just love to enforce on his people. As a gay man, I clearly saw that I would never be good enough for the church people. They would still hate me and look at me as subhuman, not worthy...I figured it out, and these people just have the b@!!s to say what many bible toters feel. I gotta respect honesty. It cements my decision as a wise one to never return to those righteous and pompus fools!
