The companies with the most shares changing hands are Yahoo! Inc. (YHOO) and Intel Corp. (INTC) with volumes of 9.85 million and 9.15 million, respectively.
Overall, early trading this morning has the Dow Jones Industrial Average Index slightly up above 13,800 points.
In other stock-related news, Clorox said it will buy Burt's Bees and posted a quarterly profit that beat analysts' estimates, according to Reuters. Also, Google Inc. (GOOG) said it will offer Internet developers a system to create applications across Web sites, challenging the features behind social networking site Facebook.com, according to Reuters.
