San Mateo mutual fund company Franklin Resources Inc. (BEN) dropped more than 8 points, or 6.41 percent, following an earnings report that showed a rise in quarterly profit that didn’t meet Wall Street expectations, according to Reuters.
It was the largest share price drop thus far today among the 50 Bay Area stocks tracked by The Examiner.
The market was up overall in mid-afternoon trading, with the Dow up .86 percent, the Nasdaq up 1.78 percent and the S&P 500 up 1.22 percent.
