San Francisco's Sony Holland sings songs from her upcoming album at the Plush Room this week.

SAN FRANCISCO (Map, News) - San Francisco-based jazz vocalist Sony Holland performs with her quartet in a show called “The First Time Ever I Saw Your Face” in which she’ll debut material from her upcoming CD, which is being recorded with with Grammy-winning engineer Leslie Ann Jones.

Holland’s current album is "Out of This World." Performances are at 8 p.m. Oct. 25-27 and 7 p.m. Oct. 28 at the Empire Plush Room, York Hotel, 940 Sutter St., San Francisco.

Sony has an outstanding voice and style all her own. Jerry's lyrics and music are perfectly suited to her style and together they are the perfect musical match. Although Sony may not have the media attention she deserves, she does have a loyal following which follows her not only around the country but internationally as well. I think Sony Holland has the most wonderful Jazz voice thats come along in years. I hear a little Sarah V mixed with her own style. I hope this girl gets some big time play.
