New state senator talks about his plans for Annapolis
- Democrat Jim Rosapepe, a former state delegate, defeated incumbent John Giannetti 69 percent to 31 percent in District 21 Senate race, which covers parts of Anne Arundel and Prince George’s counties. It was the second time Rosapepe beat Giannetti in an election. He won the Democratic primary in September by 19 points over Giannetti, who then switched his party affiliation to Republican so he could run in the general election.

- Quintin Peterson, a 25-year veteran of the D.C. police, is the author of two novels, “SIN” and “The Wages of SIN,” is a contributor to the crime fiction anthology “D.C. Noir,” edited by novelist George Pelecanos. He is native Washingtonian and attended the Corcoran School of Art. While in high school, he was honored with the University of Wisconsin’s Science Fiction Writing Award and the National Council of Teachers of English Writing Award. Peterson is a member of Mystery Writers of America and the author of several plays and screenplays.

- Beginning later this month, higher parking fees will take effect at Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport, which is undergoing many improvements. The economy parking will cost a maximum of $10 per day, daily parking will have a $17 maximum daily cost and hourly parking will cost a maximum of $36 per day.
