Douglas Lamdin: City’s missing committee
- Last December, Mayor Sheila Dixon’s Blue Ribbon Committee on Taxes and Fees produced a report reviewing the city’s tax structure, with the focus on reducing Baltimore’s property tax rate. In the end, the committee recommended the city reduce its property tax rate over the next several years by about one-third, or a $0.72 reduction per $100 of assessed value.
