Pentagon documents sought in Pat Tillman probe
A House committee chairman asked the Pentagon on Thursday to declassify some documents about the friendly fire death of Army Ranger Pat Tillman, saying the public and Tillman's family should get to see them. U.S. troops abandoned a remote outpost in eastern Afghanistan where militants killed nine of their comrades this week, officials said Wednesday, in another sign of the struggle facing foreign and Afghan security forces strung out along the mountainous border.
Boeing optimistic about its tanker bid
John Lockard, chief operating officer of Boeing Co.'s defense unit, said Monday he is looking forward to addressing the revised bid request for a $35 billion tanker contract, calling the U.S. Air Force's intention to pick a winner by the end of the year "a sporty schedule."
