Wisconsin unlikely to recoup money given to GM
It doesn't appear likely that Wisconsin will recoup most of the $10 million awarded to General Motors for worker training and other improvements at its Janesville plant.
Father of dead adopted boy still in hospital
Miles Harrison, the Purcellville father whose 21-month-old adopted Russian-born son died when Harrison allegedly left him in the back of his car in a Herndon parking lot, remained hospitalized Monday as Herndon police waited to formally charge him with manslaughter. The Helen Delich Bentley Port of Baltimore claims the title of the nation’s leading auto export port. But a tiny percentage of those cars exported are not legal.
Production changes at General Motors Corp.
General Motors Corp. on Monday announced further production cuts as it tries to deal with a rapid shift in consumer demand from pickup trucks and sport utility vehicles to cars and crossover vehicles. The company also is increasing production at some car and crossover factories. Cuts are in addition to the normal two-week shutdown for model year changeovers in July: |
