Judge refuses to toss track coach's conviction
A federal judge on Friday declined to toss out track coach Trevor Graham's conviction for lying to federal investigators in a performance-enhancing drug probe. More than half of San Mateo County’s residents are overweight, and health leaders say they are not taking it lying down. San Carlos will become the sixth city on the Peninsula to install a red-light camera at a major intersection as three other cities in San Mateo County eye the popular devices.
Ballot-box satire inappropriate
The First Amendment of the U.S. Constitution gives any individual or group the right to makes fools of themselves. However, nowhere is it written that they have a right to use the San Francisco ballot to do so. Next Sunday, when Dave Mandelkern crosses the finish line after completing the New York City Triathlon, he will have accomplished his goal of completing 50 triathlons in all 50 states (and Washington, D.C.) before reaching the age of 50 (“50-by-50-by-50”).
