A mother and daughter pleaded guilty Monday to several felony charges stemming from a sweeping federal investigation into the theft and illegal trafficking of American Indian artifacts.Jeanne (JEAN'-nee) Redd, 59, pleaded guilty to seven federal counts of theft of government property, theft of tribal property and trafficking in stolen artifacts. Her 37-year-old daughter, Jerrica Redd pleaded guilty to three similar counts.

A Colorado teenager died Saturday after his raft overturned in a turbulent stretch of the Colorado River near Moab.The Grand County Sheriff's Office says the 17-year-old boy from Fraser, Colo., was on a raft that flipped Saturday afternoon in an area called Funnel Falls. A kayaker saw the teen, who was wearing a lifejacket, get sucked under again in nearby Skull Rapid.

Some scholars of early Mormon history have begun a letter-writing campaign in hopes of preserving the job of an archivist who works for the Community of Christ, an Independence, Mo.-based church.Ron Romig, 60, has worked as the lead archivist for the church since 1988. He said he was told June 15 that his position - and those of other church employees - were being cut for budgetary reasons.

Police say the wife of actor Gary Coleman was booked into jail after an argument at the couple's Utah County home.Shannon Price was arrested Wednesday and held for about two hours before posting $1,205 bail. Utah County Jail records show the 23-year-old Price was booked for investigation of domestic violence, criminal mischief and disorderly conduct. It's unclear whether Price has an attorney.
