The former head of the Idaho Transportation Department filed a lawsuit Friday against the agency, saying she was fired in a political power play to help Gov. C.L. "Butch" Otter and his big campaign donors.The lawsuit in 4th District Court claims Pamela Lowe was fired by the Transportation Department board after refusing to bow to threats by governor's aides not to interfere with a contract originally worth $50 million. The contract benefited URS Corp. and CH2M Hill.

Thousands of residents helped search for the Boise boy for more than a week after he was reported missing. His body was found Aug. 3 in an irrigation canal near Kuna.

A judge will let Tamarack Resort homeowners intervene in a foreclosure lawsuit against the failed Idaho vacation getaway but refused to endorse their plan to use a Mexican real-estate lender's cash to save the ski season.In his decision Tuesday, 4th District Court Judge Patrick Owen wrote he'll allow nine homeowners in the West Mountain Preservation Management Association to make their arguments, despite his "concerns that this is not a proper case for intervention."
BOISEWoman pleads guilty in road rage dressing case
An Idaho woman accused of ramming her pickup into another car, then hurling ranch salad dressing at the vehicle, has pleaded guilty to aggravated battery. Tiffany M. Wallace, 18, entered the plea in 4th District Court Monday in a deal with prosecutors. The Idaho Statesman reported Wallace was scheduled to be sentenced Dec. 11.Wallace was arrested June 1 after police said she used her truck to ram a sedan several times over a road rage episode. The driver of the other car told police the encounter began after he was cut off by Wallace. He said she later cut him off again, yelled at him and threw coins and plastic containers of ranch dressing at his car.
