Nick Swardson at The Warfield, Fri, 02 May 07:30PM
Nick started stand up at the age of 18. In his first year of stand up he was chosen to perform at the U.S. Comedy Arts festival. Over the next couple years Nick established himself in some of the

major clubs across the country. He then moved to New York and became a regular at the Comic Strip, Caroline's and Luna Lounge. He also compiled numerous appearances on the Tonight Show, Conan O'Brien, Jimmy Kimmel Live, Real Time with Bill Maher and the Late Show with Craig Kilborn. In 2000 he hit a milestone in his career when he taped his Comedy Central 1/2 hour special at the age of 22 (the youngest to do so). Nick then moved to L.A. to focus on his acting and writing. In the summer of 2003. Warner Brothers green lit a script Nick wrote with Jamie Kennedy called 'Suckaz' which then became 'Malibu's Most Wanted'. The film did triple it's cost in the box office and brought Nick to another level. Nick is currently working with Adam Sandler and his company Happy Madison Productions on several comedy films and a pilot for the WB network. He wrote and starred in the Happy Madison produced films “Grandma’s Boy” and “Benchwarmers”. Currently, you can see Nick in his recurring role as 'Terry' on Reno 911 on Comedy Central, and in the box office smash “Blades of Glory” with Will Ferrell. http://www.comedycentral.com/comedians/browse/s/nick_swardson.jhtml

Vicente Fernandez at Cow Palace, Sat, 10 May 08:15PM
More than just the undisputed king of Mexico's traditional ranchera music, Vicente Fernández — "El Idolo de Mexico" — is one of that country's most recognizable and influential cultural

icons. Since his emergence in the mid-'60s, Fernández's popularity has escalated to the point that his status among Mexicans and Mexican-Americans has been likened to that of Frank Sinatra and Elvis Presley in the United States. His concerts both in Mexico and the U.S. routinely sell out despite a near-total dearth of non-Latino media coverage, and his 100-plus albums have reportedly sold in excess of 50 million copies. Fernández has received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, has been nominated for Grammy Awards, and has collected a number of honors, including being named Person of the Year by the Latin Recording Academy in 2002 and garnering membership in the International Latin Music Hall of Fame. With his supersized sombreros, prominent black mustache, and eye-popping costumes, and an orchestra overpopulated with horns and strings players in glittery, matching mariachi outfits, the glitzy Fernández on-stage is an imposing, larger-than-life figure.

musicians - picked for their intensity and ability to connect with a crowd - the Corona Extra sponsored tour is about giving the new breed of country fan a full-tilt day of music that can truly define the summer. Chesney's shows - known for the tailgating, cook-outs, touch football and Frisbee playing and general block party vibe long before the gates even open - are the ultimate good time. It has helped the singer/songwriter from Luttrell, Tennessee sell in excess of a million concert tickets for the last 6 summers - with 2007's Flip Flop Summer Tour being the 2nd biggest tour behind the Police's Reunion.

Mike Birbiglia - From his hour Comedy Central special at Cobb's Comedy Club, Fri, 02 May 10:15PM
Comedian Mike Birbiglia achieved comedy cult status in 2006 with the nationwide release of his Comedy Central CD “Two Drink Mike” and “Medium Man on Campus” college tour. For the past 6 years, Mike

has toured the country honing the act that would make him one of the youngest comedians to ever appear on “The Late Show with David Letterman.” Mike is a talk show regular and the star of two “Comedy Central Presents” specials, but what has truly galvanized his fan base is his “Secret Public Journal,” a weekly blog that Birbiglia emails to thirty thousand fans and broadcasts to millions on the nationally-syndicated “Bob & Tom Radio Show.” These personal diary entries evoke the nostalgic tone of David Sedaris and the relatability of Bill Cosby, and have truly defined Birbiglia’s persona. In the fall of 2006, Mike signed a deal with NBC to develop a sitcom based on this Secret Public Journal. In the meantime, Birbiglia continues to tour and workshop his next CD, “Sleepwalk with Me,” a painfully funny one-man show about first love, first breakups, and how his own sleepwalking disorder nearly killed him. Most recently, Comedy Central premiered Mike’s one-hour comedy special “What I Should Have Said Was Nothing,” leading to his “What I Should Have Said Was Nothing” comedy tour to sold out shows across the country.
