That's because the Somerton native has spent the bulk of her time since leaving home in 1994 traveling the world making sure famous musicians are comfortable and have everything they need. But on her downtime, she still loves to come back and visit with family and friends.
"I love coming home. People don't bother me here and I can just relax!"
Villarreal is a wardrobe stylist to such celebrities as Beyonce and Mariah Carey. But, she admits, when she left Somerton, she had no idea she'd be jet-setting from country to country while famous people foot the bill.
"I have moments where I have to pinch myself to make sure this is reality and not a fantasy. When I was a little girl I could never dream of the life I have now, touring with famous musicians for a living," the 1993 Cibola High School graduate said.
"I have always been into the arts and I juggled half high school, half beauty school. I was a beautician here in Yuma for six months before I got accepted into fashion school in Los Angeles."
Villarreal moved to L.A. in 1994 and quickly began working in the "biz," trying to pursue her childhood dream of working in the fashion industry.
"My second year at fashion school, I began an internship with television. After that I started meeting people. I began working in pre- and post-production for fashion shows."
It was then that Villarreal met a women who allowed Villarreal to shadow her as a wardrobe stylist.
"I expressed to her my interest, and she felt I was a good candidate for this kind of job so she began training me when she had shows or concerts. I would go and help her prep.
"One day something came up and she couldn't do it because she was already involved in something else. She felt I was ready, and it was just a fill-in position. It all started there."
Villarreal has since worked with Destiny's Child, Depeche Mode, Mariah Carey, B2K and most recently on the Spice Girls Reunion World Tour that ended last February.
But being a "wardrobe mistress" means working long days, sometimes 16-hour shifts and in high-pressure environments.
"A wardrobe mistress is someone who takes care of the band, personally and professionally. When I am hired, I go out and am in charge of their dressing room - making sure that everything looks good.
Villarreal makes sure everything that is on an artist's list of requests is correct. All their clothes are washed and clean and organized. All their stuff they request that isn't there, she shops for.
"I remember vividly the first day I met the girls of Destiny's Child. They were at the video shoot on the beach in L.A. for the song 'Survivor.' I got to sit inside their trailer and meet them and their moms. It was great vibes.
"A month and a half later I was with them at rehearsals at Sony Studios prepping for their world tour. That's where it all started, internationally."
Now, Villarreal is on her third passport, stating, "They just couldn't keep adding pages!"

We were treated to another iron-clad sports axiom this week, as timeless as “defense wins championships” and as true as “good pitching beats good hitting.”
The Grammy Awards are on Sunday at 8 p.m. on CBS, but I doubt many people care. Aretha Franklin, Jerry Lee Lewis, Little Richard and John Fogerty are scheduled to perform, but none of the contemporary acts comes close to approaching the innovation, passion and longevity of those four.
One of the best Broadway adaptations to come to film in a long time, “Dreamgirls” is the fictional tale of a supergroup similar to the Supremes.
It has a great cast: Beyonce Knowles, Anika Noni Rose and, of course, Oscar winner and former “American Idol” contestant Jennifer Hudson as the Dreamettes. The women are discovered by a car salesman, played by Jamie Foxx, and get a gig working for a James Brown-type Motown performer (brilliantly played by Eddie Murphy).
The two-disc DVD has great special features including an exclusive performance by Hudson, six featurettes, a feature-length documentary on the film from pre- to post-production, 12 alternate scenes, photo galleries and much more.
The most unforgettable movie moment of 2006 happens in filmmaker Bill Condon’s entertaining adaptation of the reputable though not entirely wowing Broadway musical “Dreamgirls.”
