Michael Peters, a part-time sports reporter for The Baltimore Examiner, said he was walking at about 11:30 p.m. in the area of Foxwood Lane and Sandalwood Road outside his residence while talking on the phone to his grandmother, who lives in Binghamton, N.Y.
During the conversation, two males approached Peters, one of whom stabbed him in the ribs and demanded money, Baltimore County police said.
“He was grabbed by the males, spun around and as he began facing them, one of the suspects yelled something to him and stabbed him in the left side with a knife,” Baltimore Police spokesman Cpl. Mike Hill said. “They told him to give them him his wallet and his cell phone. He said he didn’t have it. The suspects then began to run away.”
Peters said the suspect’s demands confused him.
“One of them yelled, ‘What’s your problem?’ I thought, ‘My problem? You’re the one who stabbed me.’ ”
Peters was treated and released for the stab wound at Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center.
