Westmoor may get new pool if city kicks in money
- Plans for a new Giammona Pool at Westmoor High School may finally move forward when the city decides tonight whether to contribute $4 million to beef up expansion plans for the popular pool, after a six-month delay over discussions about the facility’s design.

Jefferson upgrades kick off
- Terra Nova High School’s athletic director Bill Gray said he has spent too many hours cutting the grass and fixing the irrigation system on the school’s 45-year-old football field. So when a construction crew began demolishing the old field last week to install new synthetic grass, aluminum bleachers, lights, a track and new restrooms, he immediately welcomed the workers.

- The smell of chicken teriyaki and pancit, a popular Filipino noodle dish, fills the air upon entry into the renovated Harvest Food Court in Serramonte Center. A big stone fireplace crackles on the left while vendors such as Betty Boop’s Diner, Sbarro and the popular Panda Express and Manila Bay Cuisine are their fare to the right.

- Two Daly City men were sentenced Thursday in federal court in San Francisco for a scheme to sell counterfeit designer handbags on eBay, the U.S. Attorney's Office reported.

Daly City firefighters save homes from dumpster fire
- Firefighters put out a fire burning in a dumpster on the ground floor of a Daly City apartment building this morning before flames spread to any of the residences, the Daly City Fire Department reported.
