He was a decorated U.S. Marine lieutenant in World War II, and came home to serve two terms in the U.S. House of Representatives and one in the U.S. Senate. But then he ran into his second war, in Vietnam, when 58,000 American soldiers lost their lives and Brewster lost his political career.
