Leslie Mancuso: Cervical cancer prevention for all women — everywhere
Leslie Mancuso, The Examiner Jan 25, 2007 1:00 AM (1064 days ago)BALTIMORE Reminding women to be screened annually for cervical cancer is one of the goals of Cervical Health Awareness Month. Thanks to the availability of the Pap test, cervical cancer screening and prevention has become routine for most women in the U.S. and incidence rates for this type of cancer are relatively low. With the recent introduction of a vaccine against human papillomavirus (HPV), the virus that can lead to cervical cancer, I’m happy to say this dreaded disease should become even less of a concern.
