Firefighter OT burns taxpayers
The San Francisco Examiner Newspaper, The Examiner Jul 27, 2008 6:00 AM (492 days ago)SAN FRANCISCO With The City having just undergone a round of belt-tightening to overcome a $338 million deficit in the newly passed 2008-09 budget, it would seem an especially important time for municipal department heads to carefully monitor expenditures. That memo does not seem to have reached the San Francisco Fire Department, where The Examiner recently found that just five firefighters accounted for a total of nearly $843,000 in overtime pay during 2007.
