It began as the Last Frontier, became the New Frontier and now it’s crossing the final frontier. The Wild West-deco gambling hall that opened in 1942 and became the first themed casino on the Las Vegas Strip was imploded early Tuesday to make way for a $5 billion megaresort planned by IDB Group and Elad Group, the owner of The Plaza hotel in New York.
