Jennie Garth as Kelly and Jessica Stroup as Silver.
Silver and Kelly said goodbye to their mother in this week’s “90210.”

Jackie Taylor (Ann Gillespie), who is a longtime character from the original “Beverly Hills, 90210,” was diagnosed with breast cancer and was hospitalized following cardiac arrest in last week’s episode. Her teenage daughter, Erin “Silver” Silver (Jessica Stroup), had been caring for her. Over the past few episodes, Silver was able to forgive and reconnect with her mother following years of Jackie’s drug and alcohol abuse.
Jackie’s older daughter, Kelly Taylor (Jennie Garth), who was also on the original series, was not able to forgive their mother so easily. While at the hospital picking up Silver, though, Kelly thought Jackie had passed away when her room was cleared out. Silver informed her that they moved their mother to a private room, and Kelly realized that she needed to say goodbye to Jackie. The mother and daughter made up and Jackie told Kelly how proud she is of her.
Silver and Kelly were both at Jackie’s bedside when she passed away.
Meanwhile, Silver’s friends at West Beverly Hills High School had some drama of their own. Adrianna Tate-Duncan (Jessica Lowndes) confronted her ex-boyfriend, Navid Shirazi (Michael Steger), about telling her friend Naomi Clark (AnnaLynne McCord) that she was using drugs again. Navid had witnessed Adrianna buying drugs from Jasper Herman (Zachary Ray Sherman), but she continued to deny it. When Naomi came to visit Adrianna at home, though, she discovered the drugs in Adrianna’s purse and stormed out of her room.
Navid’s pursuit of a story for The Blaze about drug use on campus has had him keeping an eye on Jasper. He warned Dixon Wilson (Tristan Wilds) about Jasper, as Jasper is dating Dixon’s sister, Annie Wilson (Shenae Grimes). When Annie decided to bring Jasper home to meet her family for dinner, Dixon told their parents that Navid said Jasper was a drug dealer. This made for an awkward dinner, but Jasper did his best to charm Harry (Rob Estes) and Debbie Wilson (Lori Loughlin), saying that the rumors about him are not true and that he only wants the best for Annie.
Jasper’s efforts failed, however, as Harry and Debbie told Annie that she could no longer see Jasper. They believed Navid and Dixon about the drug dealing, and also thought Jasper was weird and a loner. When Annie told Jasper that her parents won’t let her see him, he told her they would figure something out.
Well, Jasper decided to take it out on Navid. He (discreetly) tripped Navid in the hallway at school, sending him down a flight of stairs. Navid appeared to be unconscious when his classmates found him.
Before the stairway incident, Navid had been working with his friends Ivy (Gillian Zinser) and Dixon to help Liam Court (Matt Lanter) devise a way to expose Jen Clark’s (Sara Foster) conniving ways to her younger sister, Naomi. Ivy had just come up with a great plan right before they discovered Navid unconscious, so fans will likely see the plan go into effect in the next episode (set to air December 1, 2009).
Liam and Naomi bumped into each other while working at The Blaze media center, and it was apparent they still had feelings for each other. Liam told Naomi he was sorry for what happened last year (in which he was tricked by Jen into sleeping with her after prom, but Naomi still doesn’t know it was her sister, at least not yet).
Naomi had been dating California University (CU) football player Jamie (Travis Van Winkle), and even came clean (she didn’t have much of a choice) to him and his roommate, Richard (Jonathan Trent), about her initial plans to date Richard to get into CU (Richard’s mother is the dean of admissions). But when Jamie came to see her at school, following her encounter with Liam, she told him that she was hung up on someone else. Sigh, will Liam and Naomi finally get back together?
The road block keeping Liam and Naomi apart, Jen, continued her deceptive ways. She went camping with her boyfriend, teacher Ryan Matthews (Ryan Eggold), per his request to do something he likes for a change, as they are always going to her fancy benefits. She wanted to leave when it started raining, but then realized how much it meant to Ryan. She also seemed sincere in confiding to Ryan about her being broke and going through a divorce, but said her husband cheated on her. Given all the lies Jen has told, though, it is highly unlikely that she is the innocent one in the marital troubles.
The truth about Jen is expected to be exposed in episode 11, ‘And Away They Go,’ which will air on December 1, 2009. Get your popcorn and DVR ready, as this one should be good.
