Annie Wilson is one of the main characters on the CW network’s “90210,” a spin-off from the iconic 1990s teen drama, “Beverly Hills, 90210.”

Annie is part of the Wilson family, which is the main focus of the drama, such as the Walsh family was on the original series. The Wilson family moved to Beverly Hills from Kansas to help care for and move in with their paternal grandmother, Tabitha Wilson (Jessica Walter), who was a famous actress. Annie’s father, Harry Wilson (Rob Estes) is the principal of West Beverly Hills High School and also grew up in Beverly Hills, and her mother, Debbie Wilson (Lori Loughlin) is a photographer. Annie attends West Beverly Hills High School, alongside her adopted brother, Dixon Wilson (Tristan Wilds).

Annie resembles the character of Brenda Walsh (Shannen Doherty) from the original series, as she is the daughter of the main family on the series, is new in town, and is interested in drama/acting.

In season one, Annie became involved with school musicals, new friends, and boys. One boyfriend in particular was Ethan Ward (Dustin Milligan), whom she had met a few years before her move when she visited her grandmother in Beverly Hills. Their relationship had some ups and downs, but ultimately ended in season one.

As for another rocky relationship, Annie befriended Naomi Clark (AnnaLynne McCord), but her relationship with Ethan created friction in their friendship as Ethan was Naomi’s ex-boyfriend. One friendship that Annie seemed to be able to count on was that of Erin “Silver” Silver (Jessica Stroup), who dated Annie’s brother, Dixon.

Season one ended on a dark note, though, for Annie, as she was wrongly accused of tattling on an after-prom party to her father, and cheating with Naomi’s new guy, Liam Court (Matt Lanter). Even though she was innocent on both counts, her classmates and Naomi turned on her, prompting her to flee Naomi’s after-prom party with a bottle of alcohol. She then called the police on that party, and drove away with a season-ending shocker of a hit-and-run crash.

Annie is played by actress Shenae Grimes, who is originally from Canada. Other acting roles include “Degrassi: The Next Generation” and “True Confessions of a Hollywood Starlet.” She was born on October 24, 1989, and said she grew up watching the original “Beverly Hills, 90210,” according to Wikipedia.  Grimes now lives in Los Angeles.
